Customer Rating: Summary: 1 Giant Leap Comment: Excellent movie. Give it as gifts ever Xmas! Never get tired of watching it!
Customer Rating: Summary: Never stop watching Comment: Very audacious project of the guys. Really nice idea traveling around the world collecting opinions, sounds, images and snapshots from the most distinct kind of cultures.
Apparently, they restricted a little bit by just interviewing people that speaks English. This could have imposed some limitations, but it is overall a "must-see". I watched it many many times and show to every friend to go to my home. Really, is very insightful and entertaining. If it was just the sound, it would be already very nice, therefore, I think the CD can be also another good option. Make sure you don't miss the Extras!
Customer Rating: Summary: Feelings Confirmed Comment: I happened upon this DVD while surfing my cable network programs. All I can say is the movie put into words the feelings I've had for as long as I can remember about being connected as human beings. I always had a problem with " religions " and this movie just confirmed for me that it's not about being religious...it's about being spiritual. So, if you are not hung up on religion titles, then you will thoroughly enjoy this, and if you are then you need to see it so you can learn a thing or two about the world we live in and who we really are as people.. Besides that, the format of the DVD was an unexpected surprise!!
Customer Rating: Summary: 1 Awesome DVD!!! Comment: I'm 55 years old but I believe I feel the pulse of what's hip/happening/current. I've been a musician all my life. What I believe is happening is that the self-created walls of imagined separetness are in the beginning stages of being dissolved and that's a very good thing as it invites the best of who we are to emerge after a rather long cacooning period. In this DVD you will see that emerging, an opening to our unity as a people on a tiny, beautiful planet spinning through space. We have some much to share with each other in expressing our basic goodness as seen in this DVD. For those of you "who think I'm a dreamer, I'm not the only one and some day you'll join us and the world will live as one." We choose how to create our lives, now is the time to become responsible for what we have created and begin to create anew in light of what we have learned, namely, "greed" & "separateness" are no longer acceptable behavior like jumping on the couch as a kid. The wise and truly visionary need to simply say "no"---no more greed, no more hatred and intolerance, no more lives based on fear, no more harm to others nor the enviornment, etc.
This DVD helps us all to awaken to our innate unity and celebrate our differences, love one another, enjoy each day. Have hope...this DVD will help you feel that hope is real and alive, growing more and more, becoming more visible. Buy this DVD and share it with others. Enjoy!
Customer Rating: Summary: Great music, pointless film Comment: Two young white guys went around the world and recorded lots of musical performances in India, Thailand, New Zealand and Africa. They put it all together and made some great music that might remind you a bit of Deep Forest or other such world beat projects.
That would have been enough.
But they decided to make a film. Which they didn't do as well. It seems that perhaps they had no particular agenda, that they went around talking to whoever would agree to an interview and then later in the editing process put pieces together that seem to fit a thematic whole. Much of it is just arm-chair philosophizing, and from perhaps not too astute philosophers such as former porn star Sharon Mitchell and actor Dennis Hopper. Authors Kurt Vonnegut and Tom Robbins and activist/business woman Anita Roddick make some pointed observations, but the rest could have been left on the cutting room floor.
If you have a choice, skip the DVD and buy the CD instead.
